Egypt gets 55.5 billion m³ of Nile water (97 % of its supply),but the large population lowers each share to under 500 m³ per person by 2025. Groundwater salinity reaches 12 000 ppm on coasts while standard RO desalination needs 2–7 kWh/m³, which is too costly for remote villages.
This is what I think is one of the solutions for a sustainable future:Our three-stage filter utilizes solar-heated hydrogels to evaporate seawater, and subsequent heavy-metal and dye contamination is trapped by a zeolite-A surface. Sunlight photocatalysts strip contaminants from both surfaces, and small AI networks control flow and dose, delivering safe, clean, low-cost, off-grid drinking water to desert communities reliably daily.
