National Organizers

Aspiring national organizers are required to submit a comprehensive project proposal that includes the following elements:

• Organizational Overview: Key facts about your organization, including the number of employees or members, affiliated companies, annual turnover, headquarters location, and other relevant information.

• National Jury Information: Background details on the proposed national jury members (a minimum of five and a maximum of nine individuals is recommended).

• Action Plan: A detailed plan outlining the steps for organizing the national competition, including key milestones, financing strategies, and marketing activities.

• Three-Year Development Strategy: A forward-looking plan describing how the national competition will be expanded or improved over the next three years.

• Authorization Letter: A formal authorization from the head of your organization.

• Budget: A proposed budget covering all anticipated costs.

The national organizer is responsible for:

• Ensuring compliance with the competition’s eligibility guidelines.

• Appointing a national jury.

• Selecting and submitting the national winner.

• Coordinating all necessary preparations for participation in the international final.

• Maintaining effective communication with relevant SWF staff.

National Organizers should identify and engage environmentally responsible sponsors and partners that align with SWF’s sponsor policy requirements.

The national organizer is required to:

• Promote the prize to target groups, ensuring that as many eligible young students as possible are informed of the opportunity.

• Develop and distribute marketing materials.

• Create and maintain a webpage dedicated to the national competition.

The competition runs throughout the school year, with national finals typically held between January and June, and the international final taking place at the end of August.

Here are some guidelines for calculating the costs for the national competition. Items that should be included in a budget are:

• Marketing/PR, information material and website.
• The complete cost for the national competition.
• Other administration costs.
• Travel costs to the international final for the national winners, and the national organizer’s representative. This should also include accommodation, food, and other expenses for the national organizer’s representative.
