FloodSense Real - Time Flood Alert System
Floods are becoming a common threat to all regions of Kazakhstan, especially during the springtime, when snow melts rapidly and leads to rapid increases in river levels for which there is not enough time to act quickly. In order to solve this problem, we have designed an inexpensive and independent Early Flood Warning System, which monitors the environment and sends instant warnings before hazardous water levels occur. The system is able to measure the water level with the help of two different sensors – an ultrasonic sensor and a resistive water level sensor. Additional information about temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, and soil moisture provides data about conditions for a possible flood occurrence.
