My name is Maya Sharma. I was born in 2008 and grew up in Trier, Germany, together with my older brother. Living near the Luxembourg border in the heart of Europe has given me an international perspective and a curiosity about the world. I will graduate from school in 2028, with mathematics, biology, and French as my main subjects. Outside the classroom, I am a passionate dressage rider. I own a horse that I have trained since she was young, and we regularly compete in dressage events. My love for animals has always been a big part of my life. In the future, I hope to become a doctor and study human medicine in Düsseldorf.

Water Without Worry – Developing a Compact Filter made from Natural Materials for Microbial Water Treatment
The project focuses on developing a cost‑effective, efficient, pocket-sized filtration system that removes microbiological contaminants from surface water, making it safe for human consumption. The use of Chitosan – a naturally derived and biodegradable biopolymer – not only enables effective filtration but also supports an eco‑friendly design, allowing clean drinking water to be produced without compromising ecological responsibility.
