I am Narumi SAKAMOTO, a third-year student of environment system course in Aomori Prefectural Nakui Agricultural High School.

I belong to table tennis club.

I have been playing table tennis for twelve years.

My hobbies are playing video games and listening to music.

I hope I would get experience in various aspects by joining Stockholm Junior Water Prize.

I am proud of being a representative of Japan for SJWP2018, and I do my best!

Extreme weather frequently occurs due to the effect of global warming. Therefore, water shortage and flood damage occur in various places every year.

The New Green Revolution：Hybrid System of Phytoremediation and Food Production in Eutrophicated Ponds/Lakes

In both kidney beans and maize systems, the combination of nitrifying bacteria and mycorrhizal fungi can eliminate the nitrogen concentration effectively, and the growth of maize and kidney beans was enhanced by the existence of nitrifying bacteria. On-site pilot experiments indicated that maize and kidney beans in the local lake provided an energy-saving and cost-effective alternative instead of conventional energy-intensive systems for water purification.
